Medical Book Reviews

www.doody.com - Doody's is a subscription-based journal (don't know if it's
still available in print or not?) that rates and reviews health sciences
books. A subscription costs $450; some free information may be available.

www.rittenhouse.com - Rittenhouse is a health sciences book distributor and
provides free information on its site (of course, Rittenhouse is in the
business of selling books!).

www.e-streams.com/f_home.htm - This free site provides electronic reviews of
science & technology books covering engineering, agriculture, medicine and
science. The Site developer is always looking for reviewers (reviews receive
a published book - not a proof - that can be added to your collection).

www.med-ed-online.org/review.htm - Medical Education Online is a free online
journal that publishes reviews of books related to medical/health sciences
education.

www.ala.org/acrl/choice/index.html - CHOICE: Current Reviews for Academic
Libraries reviews books, including medical titles, for academic libraries.
This is a subscription based service (available print and/or online).

http://www.booksinprint.com/bip/ - Books in Print online is a fee-based
service but you can request a free trial.

http://acqweb.library.vanderbilt.edu/ - Acqweb is a free site for librarians
interested in acquisitions and collection development. For book reviews, go
to Contents, then click on V. Library and Information Science, H. Collection
Development, Directory of Book Reviews.

dealers that provide reviews written by readers.

JAMA, Lancet, and New England Journal of Medicine all have good book review
sections.
